Energy Expertise from Bad Homburg

Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH (KGE), based in Bad Homburg v. d. H., near Frankfurt am Main, is a subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. All European business is managed from here. KGE has been present on the European market since 1975, and since 1998 we have been covering the entire life cycle of a gas turbine generator set, i.e. from the planning and engineering of a plant, assembly, installation and commissioning to the aftersales market and maintenance, we tailor our services to individual customer requirements and circumstances.

Over 175 plants have already been installed in Europe and more than 7,800 worldwide. The power range extends from 1,700 kWe to 34,000 kWe and 3,700 kWth to 40,000 kWth.

Solutions, experience & modernisation

Expertise throughout the entire plant cycle

We supply tailor-made plants and modernise existing systems to meet new legal requirements and safety standards. Europe is pushing ahead with the expansion of decentralised energy supply and pursuing clear climate targets. Our technologies support this development with efficient and flexibly integrable solutions.

German Gas Industry Innovation Award 2022

Innovation Award for the H₂-Micro-Mix-Burner

Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe was awarded the German Gas Industry Innovation Award in the category ‘Efficient Application Technology’ in 2022. In collaboration with Aachen University of Applied Sciences, RWTH Aachen University and B&B-AGEMA, Kawasaki developed a DLE combustion system for 100% hydrogen. The system is based on the proven GPB17 unit and has been successfully demonstrated in practical tests.

H₂-Award 2024

GPB17D-H2 MMX wins Hydrogen Award 2024

Kawasaki wins the Hydrogen Technology of the Year Award 2024. Our GPB17D-H2 MMX – the world’s first 100% hydrogen-fired Gas Turbine with dry DLE Combustion (Micromix) – was named Hydrogen Technology of the Year at Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA.

For clean and future-proof energy

Future-oriented turbine technology

In recent years, Kawasaki has developed the DLE (Dry Low Emission) system, which enables extremely low pollutant levels: less than 32 mg/Nm³ NOx when running on natural gas, optionally 20 mg/Nm³ for the GPB17D and GPB80D. Our entire gas turbine portfolio is ‘hydrogen ready’ and can burn up to 30 percent hydrogen. KGE thus provides modern, low-emission and future-proof technologies that meet the requirements of a climate-neutral energy industry.
